Yay, yay, giddy up, giddy up, yay, yay, gid...wait a second...do I smell food??!!

Collin and Opa Sherm, reading, it would seem, one of Collin's favorite books, "Charlie Monkey" (July 2007)

"Guten tag. Hier ist Collin, mit meine familie von Deutschland" (Collin mit cousins Vivien und Robin, 22.6.07).

Life's good. Where's my shaker?? In a second, I'll start crawling around the house with my hands full. Dum diddy dum diddy dum dum dum. I like cameras.

I bend it. I shake it. The world is my oyster. I control all the cars that drive by. I'm the keeper of the sun, dreamer of dreams, catcher of smiles...but I'm not a megalomanic!

The confused crabby claw: Mommy steamed my cucumbers...because she thought they were squashes. Hmmm...cooked, wet, limp cucumber...yum???? Oh well...I'll eat it anyway, just so I don't hurt her feelings. "Don't quit your day job, mom."

Door Guarder. People Watcher. Music Hearer. Mischief Mister Provocateur. Cute and Buddha-like.

The Sneaky-Daddy-from-Behind-the-Chair routine works every time! (giggle, giggle)

Wish you were there (Florida, March 2007).

Hmmm. Bite it? Eat it? Analyze it? Meditate on it? Squeeze it? Smack it? It's fun being a little one!

"You should be dancin'...yeah...you should dancin'...yeah..."

"Is the closeup really necessary? You just got me full frontal, all muscles and walking in the last picture!"

We say: "Uh." Collin say: "Daddy crazy."

"Next on the runway is Collin Michael Parker-Szekely, the baby with many names and a whole lotta smile. He'll be wearing a custom-made, Grandma-knitted, bubbe-certified, League of Women Voters-approved deep orange ensemble, featuring cardigan sweater and hat to match..."

"Take me out for a nice walk. Take me out to the crowd. Don't by me anything, let me sleep. I don't want to hear any peeps..."

All stretched out. Nowhere to go. Everything to play with. Life's good.

"And here's the punchline, mommy..."

"And next I'm gonna......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

"Ohhhhhhhh. It's playtime! Where's my giraffey? Time to get busy...movin', shakin', droolin'..."

Where's Collin? (Halloween 2006)

"I shall call him...Mini Me." "No...wait...I AM Mini Me!"

Sunday, October 29, 2006

We'll call this the 1st of three in the Halloween Pea Pod series. #1 - Pea Pod (with daddy) appears at a Halloween party in New Jersey.

Pea Pod Closeup.

Pea Pod, unmasked. Dun dun dun!

Up from nap...chillin'.

Napping with pops after a long weekend of Halloween partying.

Mom and son break out the moves somethin' fierce!

"Mommy...forget that fake, computerized dancing baby crap. I'm ready for the real thing. Kick it!"

Mommy and son at the Gymboree Halloween party.

Sleeping in. Well deserved.

"I'm already standing...with some help, that is!" (Getting physical in the exersaucer, October 2006).

Some folks call me "Collin." Some folks call me "Collin Michael Parker-Szekely," but that takes a bit to say. You can also call me "Bubby," not to be confused with "Bubbe," optional name for my paternal grandma!

Collin mit papa.

Cruisin'. Sittin'. Chillin' like a villain. Hangin' with the grandpops. Watch out for my spit drops. I'll be ready for some milk soon. Take a nap at high noon.

Collin Michael. Now about 12 lbs. and 24 inches (late September 2006).

Collin with his new favorite friend, Mr. Gnome, or "Gnomey," courtesy of buddy Steve from California. I think Steve's note read: "Kinda looks like daddy, doesn't it, Collin?"

"Pamper me! Use the lavendar lotion this time. A little more water, please. And could you use the duckie washcloth?"

"Oooh. Oooh. I know! I know! I know the answer!"

"I love you, Uncle Zach. Will you teach me how to be cool?"

Wha?

Getting ready for car ride to party in suave dinosaurish turtleneck. Oh yeah.

"Kindly respect my recreation time, will you?"
